God is alive and well in Kenya!
I have excerpted this from the prayer letter written by some dear friends ministering in Kenya. Most of us cannot imagine what that country is going through, and there is no doubt that terrible deeds are being done for which that country will pay a terrible price down the road. But here is a view of the victory of grace and peace and love in the lives of some through the eyes of a servant of God.

. . . for February, 2008 – as of the 4th
"Here we are – back with you at the beginning of another month – alive and well. What is happening here in Kenya is very sad as, in some areas, neighbor goes against long-time neighbor, inter-tribal families break up, and church member kills fellow church member in the rioting. Yes, this past month has seen over 100 churches burned, hundreds of thousands displaced as tribe went after tribe + gangs victimizing many, and over 800 killed. Gavin Bennett, a writer in our local paper today wrote: “The fist holds no answers…Bloodshed does not decide who is right; it decides who is left.” …he is so very right! Has the violence stopped? …NO! Has it lessened? …YES! Is it all over the country? …NO! Is it intermittent and does it flare up? …YES! Is God at work? …DEFINITELY! We hear of Christians helping one another across tribal boundaries and of miraculous escapes….we also know of Christians who have been killed. Churches have split over the tribe of the pastor; other churches have become havens of refuge for any & all and have reached out with helping hands. A church in our area has been helping over 200 displaced people who are living in tents on their grounds; many of our Rosslyn parents are involved in aid and refugee work; our international church highlights a local helping agency each week and donates to help them; the husbands of two of our teachers collect and take aid out to needy areas giving material aid as well as showing and telling of the love of Christ.
